- Employees raise more than $1,400 -
Pittsburgh, December 07, 2012 - Select International, a global employee assessment and hiring solutions provider, used the power of the mustache to raise over $1,400 for Movember.
Each year during the month of Movember (a witty combination of the words mustache and November), more than one million men around the world spend 30 days growing mustaches to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, specirfically prostate and testicular cancer. Fifteen employees joined the Select International Mustache Maniacs and sported a mustache for the entire month. A Youtube video was created to show their support and share their mustache wisdom.
Lou Simon, Director of Technology Development, brought this initiative to Select International and is happy with the outcomes, saying, "This was our first year participating and, not only did we have good participation, but Select International donated $50 for every participant. We hope to continue to groom our support for 2013."
Movember and sons reported that more than 1.1 million mustaches raised over $113 million globally for men's health. To learn more about Movember, go to http://us.movember.com/.
"To the one million Americans who supported and proliferated the moustache in 2012, we are deeply movd by your commitment and engagement to make this Movember the biggest yet," said Adam Garone, CEO and CoFounder of Movember. "The itchy lips and puzzled looks help enable top notch research, awareness, education and survivorship programs. We salute you for changing the face of men's health."
