Imani Christian Academy
Select International awarded a financial grant to Imani Christian Academy. An alternative to public schools, Imani Christian Academy is a registered school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with an enrollment of 180 students in grades K-12. The organization’s mission is “to embrace all children in our society, particularly those who are at risk, transform them into whole adults – spiritually, academically, physically and socially – and then launch them into lives of purpose and contribution”.
“We chose Imani Christian Academy as the recipient of this grant because of its
commitment to improving the lives of children through education,” said Kevin
Klinvex, Select International Co-founder. “This school provides a tremendous
amount of support to its students, facilitated through programs that encourage
personal growth and achievement.”

Parkway West Career and Technology Center
For five years, Select International has partnered with Parkway West Career and Technology Center to provide interview preparation classes for seniors approaching graduation. First, students attend a workshop where they learn important interview skills and etiquette, common interview questions, and basic “dos” and “don’ts”.
“These young people are already working to overcome challenges – either at home, at school, or both – and they may not know what awaits them as they prepare to enter the work force,” said Doug Wolf, Vice President of Consulting Services for Select International. “Our program arms them with the right tools so they can increase their chances of securing a good job.
”Following the first session, Select International consultants then conduct mock interviews with the students, giving them feedback on what they did well and areas where they could improve. This exercise typically helps students feel more confident and prepared when they go on real interviews.
Pittsburgh Habitat for Humanity
Pittsburgh Habitat is one of over 2,300 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit Christian housing ministry in over 90 countries, working to eliminate poverty housing worldwide. Pittsburgh Habitat works in partnership with volunteers and low-income families in need, to build homes, which are then purchased by these families through no-profit, no-interest mortgages.
Lee National Denim Day
For the past several years, Select International and its employees have joined the fight against breast cancer by participating in the Lee National Denim Day. Proceeds from the national fundraiser now benefit The Women’s Cancer Programs of EIF, an Entertainment Industry Foundation initiative. EIF is committed to saving lives by raising awareness about early detection and by providing funds to advance treatment research.
Hurricane Katrina Relief
After witnessing the devastation to the Gulf Coast caused by Hurricane Katrina, Select International employees donated to the relief effort. The company then matched the total amount of all donations received. The funds were sent to the American Red Cross, an organization that is launching the largest mobilization of resources for a single natural disaster.
Select International VP Honored as Mentor
Select International’s Vice President of Consulting Services, Doug Wolf, has been named “Mentor of the Year” for his work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Pennsylvania. Doug has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest mentoring organization, for more than 10 years.
