SafetyMirror
SafetyMirror is a unique tool designed to measure the psychological factors that are most closely linked to safety. While we know that accidents are often the result of many factors, this cutting-edge assessment provides valuable information on how an individual fits into an organization's existing safety culture, systems, and processes. We learned there are four critical competencies that tell us whether a person is likely to be at risk:
- Awareness – how aware are you of your surroundings?
- Caution – how careful are you when you approach your work?
- Control – how much control do you feel that you have over risks in your environment?
- Rules – how much do you value and comply with safety rules and policies?
SafetyMirror measures not only a person's stable personality traits, but also their ability and decision-making as it relates to safety situations. While most assessments only focus on measuring what the test taker "will do," SafetyMirror also uncovers what the test taker "can do."
SafetyMirror serves both as a way to identify potentially at-risk hires and as a means for identifying a person's safety "blind spots" that can put him or her at risk. SafetyMirror can easily fit within a variety of safety-based solutions and initiatives that organizations may already have in place. It can be used as:
