Technical Tests
Select International has two sets of advanced technical test items. The electrical test covers knowledge of industrial electricity and electronics. The mechanical test covers knowledge of industrial mechanics. These technical tests are designed to measure technical knowledge required for success in various positions. Specifically, the following content domains are covered by each technical test:

Development and Validation
Select International's technical tests are face valid, containing items that are highly relevant to entry-level production positions. However, each test is tailored for each client's setting, using a content validation approach.
Overall, Select International's approach to content validation would include the participation of job content experts (JCE's). JCE's are asked to rate the relevance of each item as well as the probability of a correct answer. Items that are not rated as relevant by at least 75% of all JCE's are removed from further analysis. The cutoff score is then calculated as the average probability of correctly responding for all items that meet the 75% relevance cutoff.
The result is a test (or tests) that contain(s) only job relevant items of appropriate difficulty, for each client's specific technical assessment needs.
Delivery and Scoring
The technical tests can be administered via the web or in paper and pencil format if necessary. The tests can be scored immediately via the web based platform, however, if the paper and pencil delivery method is chosen, the answers will need to be scored by an administrator or sent to Select International to score.
