
Employee Screening
Select International's employee screening process is implemented in several steps, depending on the client's need. Below are items that are commonly used by Select International's RPO clients for screening candidates:
EZ App® On-line Application
EZ App is designed to increase applicant flow of qualified candidates. EZ App is an automated, interactive application-processing tool that allows applicants to apply for open positions using a web browser. The system is tailored using relevant withdrawal questions, "knock-out" questions, information only questions, and EEOC and recruitment source questions to screen out unqualified candidates without putting an unnecessary burden on recruiting staff. We refer to this as the "candidate intake process" when used in our RPO model.
Personal Preferences Questionnaire
A Personal Preferences Questionnaire can be used to assist in screening out individuals who are a high risk to be a poor fit. This tool can be part of the EZ App process or onsite testing. The PPQ measures elements (from a motivation, environment and personal preferences perspective) that both are and are not in the position. Each PPQ is written specifically for the company based on an analysis of the motivators and detractors in the job.
Online Employee Assessments
Select International has developed industry-leading competency-based employee assessments to help you efficiently and accurately identify those individuals (from hourly to executive) with the relevant skills and abilities to contribute to your bottom line. These highly accurate assessments evaluate candidates for various team member positions. Select has completed over 200 validation studies and routinely reports very strong validity coefficients r = .5 - .8 for our suite of assessments. By increasing the quality of employees, you decrease absenteeism, turnover and unsafe work behaviors. Most importantly, you decrease the amount of time managers spend in interviews with poor quality candidates. We assess both negative traits and positive traits in one powerful system; measuring key personality and behavioral characteristics to help you identify and screen out individuals more likely to be involved in workplace violence, job jumping, accidents, illegal drug use, and theft. At the same time, our assessments use interactive, engaging, and realistic computer-based graphics to measure productive behaviors, such as attention to detail, problem solving, ability to learn, process monitoring, visual acuity, work pace and teamwork. In addition, technical tests that measure mechanical aptitude and electrical aptitude can also be configured for those skilled maintenance positions.
Application Reviews
Every paper or "online" application is given individual attention comparing the information submitted to the information that was entered through the Candidate Intake Process (CIP). Individual application reviews position the interviewer to probe into areas that are of interest to determine if the applicant applying has the experience and skills set necessary to be a successful new hire.
