Online Interview Training
Select Interviewing Online is an interactive, self-guided and modular-based training program. This online course takes approximately two hours to
complete and is conveniently designed so that participants can complete as much or as little in one log-in session, based on their availability.
Once participants complete the online program, they will have covered the basic fundamentals necessary to conduct effective, behaviorally based interviews in a legally defensible manner. The modules, which include guided narration, videos and interactive exercises, cover several areas, including:
- Common Interviewing Mistakes
- Predicting Future Performance
- Asking Effective Questions
- Unacceptable Questions
- Taking Notes
- Assigning Motivational Fit Ratings
- Combining Ratings
The online program is structured so that the participant's answers to the text-entry practice exercises are captured "behind the scenes" and a summary report of these responses can be printed at the end of the program for them to use as key learning points in the future. There is also an option for the participant's supervisor, the facilitator, an HR resource, etc. to have a copy of the participant's responses automatically emailed to them. Besides being a "take away" reference point for the participant, this format is designed to discourage "passive participants" from entering nonsense responses or not taking the course seriously if they are aware that someone else will receive a copy of these responses.
In addition to the online course, Select International has designed an optional 3-hour classroom follow-up training. Designed with the busy professional's schedule in mind, the classroom training is less than a half-day, yet provides valuable facilitator-led debrief and discussion of the prerequisite online training, as well as allows participants to practice their interviewing skills "live" with a partner.
