Select International Makes a Notable Deposit at Pittsburgh Food Bank

- Internal Incentive Program Drives Employees to Donate Goods that Help Better the Community -

Pittsburgh, January 29, 2007 - Select International, a global provider of human resource assessment solutions located in Pittsburgh’s North Hills, collected more than 1,500 food items for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank (GPCFB). While Select International has offered its employees incentives and participated in fundraising events since its founding in 1993, this is the first program to support the needs of the GPCFB.

“We feel it is important to support our community and help to reduce hunger in the greater Pittsburgh region,” says Kevin Klinvex, Co-Founder and Executive Vice President, Select International. “Companies that have happy employees tend to rise to the occasion when they are given the opportunity to support local organizations, and our internal incentive program is proof.”

"Community food drives are vital to the Food Bank," said Joyce Rothermel, CEO of the Food Bank. "Not only do they raise welcome food, but they raise awareness as well. When people of good will, like the employees of Select International, see the need and decide to do something about it, pretty soon their neighbors, families, and professional colleagues join the fight against hunger. This is the way hunger will end in southwestern Pennsylvania."

In addition to helping the community, the fund drive rewards employees for their efforts. The company awarded prizes to the two employees who donated the most food items. The grand prize winner, Paul Glatzhofer, Project Consultant, won the Sandy Beaches Package (trip to Orlando, Florida). The runner-up, Lori Pierce, Office Administrator, received the Holiday Debt Relief Package.

“It felt good to give back to the community, especially around the holiday season,” said Glatzhofer. “The owners and management team at Select International have created a positive environment where the employees are rewarded for hard work as well as community involvement.”

Select International offers other incentive programs, including Cork Awards that recognize and reward employees for working ‘above and beyond’, and a Gain Sharing Program that will be unveiled later this year.
