Select International "Selected" to Show Off Research at Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference

- More than 10 Presentations to Be Conducted -

Pittsburgh, February 04, 2008 - Pittsburgh-based Select International, a global provider of human resource assessment solutions and comprehensive recruitment process outsourcing services, will flex its research muscle by presenting 11 panel discussions and research papers at the 23rd annual conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), held this April 9-12 in San Francisco. Select International experts will host panel discussions, and conduct poster and white paper presentations, all spotlighting the company’s industry-leading research on various hiring issues, including the implementation of selection systems, applying assessments across cultures, and increasing predictive accuracy beyond personality and cognitive ability.

"It is an honor for Select International to be invited to present this research, and to be recognized by industry experts and peers," said Dr. Matthew O’Connell, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder, Select International. "We feel certain that conference attendees will leave with a greater understanding of some of today’s most pressing human resources issues."

At the four-day conference, Select International will present its research in a number of ways:

  • Seven poster presentations, covering topics that include background checks and drug screening; the predictive validity of production simulation; cognitive ability and multitasking; and examining retesting with different measures.
  • Two panel discussions on implementing selection systems at multiple locations and on how human resources practitioners are dealing with false candidate representation.
  • Two symposiums on global selection and assessments, and on inefficient candidate showcasing.

"Select International is one of the few human resource assessment organizations that continually engages in industry-leading research," says Dr. Richard Griffith, Director of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology. "This year's strong presence at SIOP supports that commitment."
