Pittsburgh Habitat for Humanity Receives Donation from Select International, Inc. In Support of Operating Expenses
PITTSBURGH, PA - Pittsburgh Habitat for Humanity (Pittsburgh Habitat) recently received a generous donation from Select International (Select) for payment of their 2004 office lease. This donation, the first of its kind for Pittsburgh Habitat and larger than typical operating grants, comes at a critical time when available operating funds are extremely limited. This substantial contribution to operating expenses will allow Pittsburgh Habitat to focus on the bigger picture of building houses in partnership with local families in need.
Some of Select International’s Fortune 500 clients are seeing the results first-hand including a major auto manufacturer who recently processed over 5,000 calls in the first 3 days. Applications are accepted, screened and the successful candidates are scheduled immediately. In this case, 3 months of testing sessions were filled in just 72 hours with zero labor.
One of the most valuable features of Select International’s applicant screening and scheduling service is the automatic self-scheduling module. Select International works with the client to set up the appropriate screening criteria for the initial screen and if the client chooses, candidates who pass the initial screen can self-schedule themselves over the phone to go onto the next phase of the process, whether that is a test, an interview, etc. The client loads in available times through Select International’s web-based tracking system and then receives reports on who is scheduled for what time periods. This eliminates the process time of applicants, and is very cost effective for Select International’s clients.
The relationship with Pittsburgh Habitat provides Select International, a global provider of human resource solutions, with the opportunity to impact local communities through concern and support of this nonprofit organization. Doug Wolf, Vice President of Consulting Services, Select International, commented, “We are proud to make this donation and are very excited about our relationship with Pittsburgh Habitat. We will continue to look for ways to lend support to this worthy cause.”
Pittsburgh Habitat, whose offices are in the Business Innovation Center in Duquesne, relies on donations and volunteers to reach their goal of providing housing for low-income families. “On behalf the program families, volunteers, and staff of Pittsburgh Habitat, I am honored to thank Select International for this contribution. At a time when operating expenses are the most difficult to generate, Select International showed their creative nature in coming up with a workable solution,” said Maggie Withrow, Executive Director for Pittsburgh Habitat. “Their investment provides affordable office space for our administrative staff while we continue our efforts to provide safe, decent and affordable shelter within Pittsburgh.”
