Select International Co-founder Appointed to Board for Imani Christian Academy
PITTSBURGH, April 6, 2006 — Kevin Klinvex, Executive Vice President and Co-founder of Select International, a global provider of human resource assessment solutions, has accepted an appointment to serve on the board of directors for the Imani Christian Academy. Founded in Pittsburgh in 1993, Imani Christian Academy is a fully accredited, alternative school for at-risk, inner-city children in kindergarten through 12th grade.
“I was truly moved by Imani Christian Academy’s approach to nurturing a young person’s spirit and providing them with direction and focus” said Klinvex, a father of four young children. “They are changing the future for at-risk children, and it’s working. I’m thrilled to be serving on the board and helping to advance their mission in the city of Pittsburgh.”
Established during the height of the city’s gang violence in the early ‘90s, Imani Christian Academy currently has 180 students. It welcomes children of all racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and boasts a zero dropout rate. More than two-thirds of Imani’s graduates have gone on to secondary education.
