Is your organization prepared for the significant leadership shortages that will impact the energy industry in the coming decade?  If your company realizes the important role that future leaders will play, join us at the People in Energy Conference.  Select International is sponsoring the event, held this year in Houston, October 28-30th.  The conference is specifically dedicated to unique HR challenges and demands faced by organizations and suppliers in the energy sector.select international 20 years logo

As Safety Practice Manager at Select International, I will be presenting along with my colleague Ted Kinney, Ph.D., our Director of Research and Development on October 28th at 11:45 a.m..  Our presentation is titled, “The Future of Energy:  Are Your Leaders Ready for the Challenge?”

The presentation will address some of the critical challenges being faced by organizations in the industry, including common leadership skill gaps, the projected shortage of leadership talent due to the approaching retirement boom, as well as the increasing need to build safety leadership capability.  This session will examine best practices for identifying high performers, developing leadership skill sets, building strong safety leadership and ensuring a robust succession planning strategy.  We will review emerging research on leadership competencies and proven methods and tools that can readily be incorporated into your organization’s recruitment, selection, and development efforts.

If you are attending the conference, we look forward to seeing you there.  Please stop by our booth and say hello!
